The Girl that Stitches

On the Second Day of Christmas... Two Octopi...  Two Octopus? No Turtle Doves... This past month I picked up the crotchet hook to make some gifts.  This is my first time trying out Amigurumi! I found it slightly challenging and my first attempt failed because the tension wasn't consistent enough. As a result there were gaps in the stitching when it was stuffed.  I also broke a metal crotchet hook... Yes it is possible- the end flew off!  Anyway, I succeeded on my second and third attempts.  These are for two mothers to be, both due to have their babies soon. Here are the Octopi: This is the wool used for variegated octopus: The green octopus is made using a beautiful wool that has flecks of yellow, aqua, blue and red through it.  I have no idea the brand but it was much better to work with than the variegated wool which kept splitting! Robber Bridegroom Update I've picked up Robber Bridegroom by Rachel Marks, it's the Heaven and Earth Designs regular chart.  Here is a reminder of the chart mock-up: The last time I was working on this was for a challenge.  I skipped the edge page because it did not have enough stitches qualify for the challenge.  This is because I've cropped some of the black stitching around the edges of the chart as well as adding metallic threads.  Here is where it was at last time I worked on it last: Now I have backtracked to finish the page I missed!  This one always seems to want to be pulled out and worked on around Halloween.  This is being tented with various strand amounts on bellana fabric: Happy Halloween!  Happy Stitching xxx

I have finally stitched the last stitch on my Treasure Hunt Bookshelf crop!  I can't believe the first stitch I placed on this chart was back in February 2014! I have a little progress to show on the Spirit of Flight diamond painting.     Here is a reminder of where it was at when posting last: I somehow missed posting a whole column finish here!  I did post in the Heaven and Earth Group though: I have started on the last column and it's on the home stretch: I've also recently picked up my stitching again after an extended amount of time, so will be back to show progress on some of that soon. Spirit of Flight Progress I've been quite busy and haven't posted much progress here for ages.  Since I'm back posting I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year and all the best for 2021!  I did manage to get a column finish in on Spirit of Flight this week.  I hope to finish another whole column of pages this year.  It's still on schedule for a 2022 finish.  I made a promise to post a video once I'd finished this column.  Here is a short clip to show off some of the sparkle!    Happy Stitching and Diamond Painting! xxx
