  1. Love the Spirit of Flight! I am soooo tempted to start diamond painting but don't think i need another "thing" to do and spend money on. Very pretty butterfly too.

    1. Thank you Faith! Maybe there is a chart in your stash already that would make a good diamond painting?! ;) They can be quite reasonably priced to buy the diamonds and canvas on AliExpress. It does get a bit like that though; too many hobbies and different projects to do lol! :D

  2. Will you seal your diamond painting after it is complete or frame it behind glass? I worry about that when considering this addition to my ever growing hobby list! Did you see the new Fenech merman on HAED called Freedom, has diamond painting potential for me! Joy (aka the maiden)

    1. Hi Joy, I did see the new Selina Fenech artwork you speak of! That's nice he has inspired you ;) I haven't made a definite decision yet in regards to Spirit, since it's still a way off being completed! My mum finished a large diamond painting not long back and framed it behind glass. there are pictures in the blog "Diamonds on the Wall." Although, the pictures don't really do it justice! Framing with glass would not be the cheapest option, but the effect is beautiful as the diamonds don't loose sparkle. Some people mention using Mod Podge, there are different varieties of this though and you'd probably need to get one that wouldn't effect the shine. Unfortunately, you may risk a loss in sparkle by using any sort of spray or sealant. Research is needed if you want to go down that track and it would pay to be cautious and test on a different smaller piece first. I have considered just mounting mine on canvas stretcher bars and framing without glass, as it would be a terrible weight with glass! The other idea i had was finishing it inlayed into a table, maybe with some led's added lol ;) I've seen someone finish their HAED by making it into a banner. That would seem to be the most inexpensive way to display... :)

  3. Hi Megan, been stitching for years and receive email updates on your blog. It was your HAED Treasure Hunt Bookshelf that lured me here years ago. Anyway, how do you cope when the morale to stitch gets a bit low? And do you consult other stitchers when an outside opinion is needed? Do you use a Discord server or a forum? I'm struggling myself making some decisions on a project. Kitting up can be expensive and you want to know you're making the right choices right? It's a major time commitment too.
I feel like a stitch community could really help out and I do use reddit, but it feels like a void sometimes. Anyway any input from you or other commenters is appreciated. Thanks mate.

    1. Hey there, Thank you for following! It's nice to hear from you :D I sometimes go on the Heaven and Earth Bulletin Board forum (tapatalk). it's a lovely little community! There is a link on the HAED site if you're interested. I'm also in quite a few stitching groups on Facebook... It's inspiring to see everyone's progress pictures. Some groups even have challenges and it can be great motivation to be involved. It's very normal to loose your motivation now and then though... and sometimes life can get a bit crazy! Just be gentle on yourself and come back to it when you feel better. Sometimes it helps to have a break and work on other stuff for a bit too... Anyway, many of the stitching communities are quite helpful if you do ask questions. You are welcome to ask here as well if you like. I think it definitely helps to start with artwork you really love, so you feel inspired to stitch! Trust yourself ;)
