Water Lily Pond

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been stitching another butterfly cushion!
This was the colour scheme of the first one I stitched some time ago.

Original Butterfly:

Monet’s Room

I stitched another version of this butterfly as a gift for my Sister. The colour design of the cushion was inspired by Monet's painting "Water Lily Pond 2." My Sister has a room with a Monet inspired colour scheme, so I picked colours that would work in this room.

Water Lily Pond 2 by Monet:

New Butterfly; Ready to be stitched to cushion:

Finished Cushion; 22 count Hardanger tented with 3 to 4 strands:

The Pattern is available on the downloads page.  The colours used in this Monet version are:

Happy Stitching! xxx

  1. Megan this is a beautiful butterfly cushion for your sister! Looks great and will certainly fit nicely in her room.

    1. Thanks Ingrid! It took hours to pick the colour combination, so I'm glad it worked out ok! 😊

  2. You did a brilliant job sorting out the colors.. Maybe a lot of work, but well worth the time. It is GORGEOUS...Well done.

    1. Thank you Natascha! There were almost too many colours to pick from... You should've seen the state of my floss... I had colours going everywhere lol! After deciding on which floss to use it took awhile to put all the rest back in their rightful places!😁

  3. Very pretty! I love both versions are beautiful and I am sure your sister will LOVE it!

    1. My Sister loved it! She said it was staying in the lounge room for a bit where she could see and enjoy it! I told her she could put it in whichever room she wanted to, so I'm not sure if it will make it to the Monet Room (the spare bedroom) lol! I'm happy she wanted to be able to see it! 💙💜💚

  4. Ooo I love this color scheme!
