Haunted by Spirits

 Spirit of Flight Finally Finished!

I've been working on Spirit of Flight this month and have been meaning to finish it for awhile now.  I needed a break from stitching and have been having issues with my eyes, so focusing on something easier to see was helpful! 

Looking back on my blog the supplies for this project arrived on the 14th of February 2017.   It was pleasing to receive diamonds on Valentine's Day! ;)  I can't believe how quick the time has flown by.  It's been almost nine years to get to the finish, which is a bit mad!   To be fair it is quite big at over a meter wide and HAED charts are always epic undertakings anyway... It's been such an enjoyable project to work on in between all my stitching projects though and I'm delighted with the sparkly finish!

A Rainbow Checkerboard

Diagonal Challenge #1 There are six challenges to be posted on the Official HAED Facebook page this year. The first challenge involved stitching 1000 stitches in 10x10 diagonal blocks. I pulled out Rainbow Girl for this and it was nice to change things up and work differently to normal! A Game of Chess! I don't usually park but it made sense to do so when working in blocks.   Even though lines are not meant to form working diagonally, I still felt slightly apprehensive about the possibly of this happening.  I figured parking may lessen the risk by helping to even out the tension between squares. Before:  After: Although I kind of like the checkerboard effect, overall I didn’t take to this way of stitching and found it more time consuming than my usual preferred cross country method.  I didn’t enjoy being confined to working in blocks...  Having to stay in the box drove me crazy lol!  I did like the fact I wasn’t reaching for floss b...

A Castle In The Sky & Bird In The Trees!

Art Nouveau Bird I haven't shared this project yet but started it months ago and have been working on it between the HAED's.  I wanted a small project to take to an appointment where there was going to be a long waiting time, in order to have something to distract me and keep me occupied!  The pattern is by Stitching Land and it's called "Art Nouveau Bird".  Stitching Land have a website which is where I purchased this pattern but they also have an Etsy Store under the same name.  Their website is:  https://stitchingland.store/  .
