A Year of Stitching

Image
Iris Keeper of the Rainbow Things have been crazy and I've not done much stitching over the past month!  I've finally finished page six of Iris which means the top row is complete.  It's awesome to finally have a row finish!  Even though I didn't manage to finish my yearly goals, I am very happy to complete my half year goal.  Previous Progress: Current Progress: Showing  off the sheer scale of it!  Pretty much covers the top of my kitchen table!: Which to Stitch? Since I'm working on so many projects, I thought it might be fun to have vote on which pieces everyone would like to see more progress on over the next couple of months and the start of the coming new year.  Here is a reminder of all the projects I have on the go.  Please comment below to vote for your favorite!: Enchanted Manor Iris Keeper of the Rainbow Nocturne Of Earth, Air, Water and Fire   Rainbow Girl Robber Bridegroom ...

The Summer Challenge

Image
Heaven & Earth Challenge I've been working on the HAED Summer Challenge over the past couple of weeks.  The weather in Australian has been far from summery! Anyway, the challenge was to stitch 10 squares in a checkerboard format, feathering the edges.  I've used Iris Keeper of the Rainbow again.  I'm working on page 6, which I'd previously skipped.  I decided to park threads on this one, like I did with the previous Checkerboard Challenge . Previous progress: Challenge completion: Violet Light For my Birthday back in August I received this beautiful piece of 25 count violet cross stitch fabric from my friend Cathy Jordan.  Sending out another big thanks to Cathy!  This one will be for the Elementals chart by Josephine Wall.   I was also blessed to receive a magnifier lamp for my Birthday too... I've wanted one of these for quite awhile and have really enjoyed using it with my challenge piece.  It will b...

Zebra Stripes & Rainbows... Nice!

Challenge #4 I've finished the Challenge!  Here it is: Previous progress: Challenge finish: Cosy Stripe Blanket My Cosy Blanket has gained more stripes but not as many as a Zebra!!! ;)  It's currently sitting on 18 different coloured stripes, with 36 rows complete.  I think it will need about 90 different coloured stripes, or about 180 rows all up... So I'll keep stitching lol!...  The colour scheme should begin to make more sense once colours start to tie back and repeat.  There won't be too many repeats though as I've got quite a few different yarns to use!  I'm loving the texture of the contrasting rows.  The pattern is from Attic 24 . Previous progress: WIP: Current progress: Happy Stitching! xxx

Yipee! I've Finished Challenge #3!!!

Iris Keeper of the Rainbow  My stitchy bug is still missing and I've still got severe pain in my ears.  Although, despite not feeling great, I've managed to persevere and finish the Challenge! Previous progress: More progress: The parking became a bit intense towards the bottom of the page! Page 5 completed: Overall progress to date: I obviously need to go back and finish page three...  Iris is coming off the q-snap for a bit now though!  Parking Method Evaluation Parking is not my usual stitching method.  I didn't mind it to begin with with...  However, the parked threads really started getting in the way in the more intense/detailed sections and trying to stitch around them was annoying!  I'm not sure that this method really suits me for that reason.  Although, I may still try it again at some point under different conditions, as I didn't enjoy being restricted to rows.  I did like the times where the parked threads could be wor...

Oh Where, Oh Where has my Stitchy Bug Gone?

Image
My stitchy bug seems to have run away! I’ve had this horrible ear infection for just over a month and a half now. So it seems I’ve swapped one bug for another! It’s been really painful...  Everything's moving very slowly at the moment as I haven’t felt well enough to do much, but I've still managed to get to the halfway mark with Challenge #3.  Previous progress:  Current progress: Wishes &Wonderfulness... On a happier note it was my Birthday the other week. I was very lucky to get an awesomely large bag of DMC threads and some fabric from my lovely friend Cathy Jordan! Sending a big thanks and lots of appreciation out to Cathy for her wonderful gift! I'm going to really enjoy stitching with these threads :) The plan is to re-upholster this bar stool with the fabric:  The tear in the stool was made by this cheeky little critter (when she was a kitten)!:  Happy Stitching!xxx
