Can You Hear The Violin?

Image
Nocturne For days 75 to 100 of the 100 Day HAED Challenge I switched over to Nocturne.  This page involved stitching her face and the violin! Reminder of Artwork, Nocturne by Marta Dahlig: Previous Progress: Progress at Day 90 of Challenge: Progress at Day 100: Current Progress: Unfortunately, yet again I've just missed out on a page finish!  I'm switching projects again for the 21 stitch day Challenge.  At the moment I still have six pages at various levels of completion to finish for the yearly goals... I was a bit ambitious with the goal setting this year lol.  Halloween Sale There is a 20 % off Halloween Sale running from now till the 2nd November on my Etsy shop Crystallize By Joelle !  Here are two pendants I recently made... A Stitching Marathon

Image
Movies, Stitching, Rainbow Girl and R.A.E.M.E Over the past couple of weeks/months I haven't been as focused on my stitching as normal because I've been jewellery making!  Although, Rob and I have done quite a few stitching/movie marathon afternoons which has been fun.  Anyway, I've finally got to the end of the page on Rainbow Girl and Rob has made awesome progress on his stitching! At the End of the Rainbow...

Image
Rainbow Girl has been on the q-snap over the past couple of weeks and I'm just about at the halfway mark on this next page...  It's hard to believe I haven't worked on this one since June 2016!  It doesn't seem like that long! Reminder of Chart:  Rainbow Girl by Josephine Wall: Previous progress: Current progress: (EDIT:  I accidentally wrote 2 over 1 in the pictures below.  This is a 1 over 1 full cross) There will be lots more brown to stitch in the second half of this page and I'll get to stitch that cute little badger in the bottom corner soon.  Happy Stitching! xxx

Stitching from the Heart

Nocturne Page Finish I've finally finished page eight of Nocturne!  This one has jumped from 16.87% to 19.25% complete. Now I'll be switching to one of the other main "focus" goals... Either Treasure Hunt or Rainbow Girl :) Previous Progress: Current Progress:   The mess I made filling in all the single stitches lol!: I hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day! Happy Stitching! xxx

The Summer Challenge

Image
Heaven & Earth Challenge I've been working on the HAED Summer Challenge over the past couple of weeks.  The weather in Australian has been far from summery! Anyway, the challenge was to stitch 10 squares in a checkerboard format, feathering the edges.  I've used Iris Keeper of the Rainbow again.  I'm working on page 6, which I'd previously skipped.  I decided to park threads on this one, like I did with the previous Checkerboard Challenge . Previous progress: Challenge completion: Violet Light For my Birthday back in August I received this beautiful piece of 25 count violet cross stitch fabric from my friend Cathy Jordan.  Sending out another big thanks to Cathy!  This one will be for the Elementals chart by Josephine Wall.   I was also blessed to receive a magnifier lamp for my Birthday too... I've wanted one of these for quite awhile and have really enjoyed using it with my challenge piece.  It will b...

A Rainbow Checkerboard

Image
Diagonal Challenge #1 There are six challenges to be posted on the Official HAED Facebook page this year. The first challenge involved stitching 1000 stitches in 10x10 diagonal blocks. I pulled out Rainbow Girl for this and it was nice to change things up and work differently to normal! A Game of Chess! I don't usually park but it made sense to do so when working in blocks.   Even though lines are not meant to form working diagonally, I still felt slightly apprehensive about the possibly of this happening.  I figured parking may lessen the risk by helping to even out the tension between squares. Before:  After: Although I kind of like the checkerboard effect, overall I didn’t take to this way of stitching and found it more time consuming than my usual preferred cross country method.  I didn’t enjoy being confined to working in blocks...  Having to stay in the box drove me crazy lol!  I did like the fact I wasn’t reaching for floss b...

Rainbow Girl, Rainbow Twirl

Image
The first page of Rainbow Girl is finished! I really enjoyed stitching the rainbow colours! I’m starting to get used to the feel of stitching 1 over 1 on 25 count and would certainly use this fabric and thread combination again.  It’s definitely up there with 20 count lugana (2 over 1) as a favorite combination of mine. Progress update:   Fly by Needleminder  I’m pretty good at losing needles… I think they all end up the same place as all those missing sock pairs… Maybe there is a needle snatching monster as well as a sock monster! Anyway, I made a needleminder by snapping a little magnet onto a butterfly brooch/pin that was handy. It’s working great… but whether I will stop losing needles… well that is probably still unlikely lol! ;) Post edit: Requested pictures of brooch;
