Lots of Floss

Image
Robber Bridegroom For the 22 day Facebook Challenge I decided to attempt to finish the remainder of page 8 on Robber Bridegroom.  I've added metallic threads to the chart. Reminder of artwork: Previous progress: Current progress!: Floss Organizer Update Version 10 It was recently brought to my attention the Floss Organizer is missing the 35 new floss colours released by DMC near the start of 2018.    I've now updated it and Version 10 is the most recent version.  This version still has the skein estimator and several other useful sections.  I will also make the link permanently available via the "Downloads" tab at the top of the page.  There is also a user guide available in the Downloads tab.  Changes to version 10: 1. Added 35 new DMC floss colours to all project tabs 2. Re-designed new look Floss Project Pages:  Fabric Calculator Section: Project Stitch Count Overview, Percentage Complete: ...

Can You Hear The Violin?

Nocturne For days 75 to 100 of the 100 Day HAED Challenge I switched over to Nocturne.  This page involved stitching her face and the violin! Reminder of Artwork, Nocturne by Marta Dahlig: Previous Progress: Progress at Day 90 of Challenge: Progress at Day 100: Current Progress: Unfortunately, yet again I've just missed out on a page finish!  I'm switching projects again for the 21 stitch day Challenge.  At the moment I still have six pages at various levels of completion to finish for the yearly goals... I was a bit ambitious with the goal setting this year lol.  Halloween Sale There is a 20 % off Halloween Sale running from now till the 2nd November on my Etsy shop Crystallize By Joelle !  Here are two pendants I recently made... Labradorite and Mookaite Gemstone Pendants:   Happy Halloween! Happy Stitching! xxx

Nocturne

Nocturne It's been a long time since Nocturne has seen the light of day!  This project was one of the three pieces with the highest amount of votes, when everyone voted for the projects they wanted to see more progress on.   I really wanted to complete page 8 for this blog but I'm only about halfway through.  The chart I'm working on is the old version.   After discovering the art was re-charted, I put the wip aside for awhile to decide whether or not to restart with the newer chart.  I've decided to continue working on the original chart though.  I've already restarted this one before and don't have the heart to restart it again, especially since quite a decent amount has been completed.  Anyway, the newer chart may blend better and have more depth but I still think the original is pretty!  They both have their strengths and weaknesses. Water Lily Pond

Butterflies Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been stitching another butterfly cushion! This was the colour scheme of the first one I stitched some time ago. Original Butterfly: Monet’s Room I stitched another version of this butterfly as a gift for my Sister. The colour design of the cushion was inspired by Monet's painting "Water Lily Pond 2." My Sister has a room with a Monet inspired colour scheme, so I picked colours that would work in this room. Water Lily Pond 2 by Monet: New Butterfly; Ready to be stitched to cushion: Finished Cushion; 22 count Hardanger tented with 3 to 4 strands: Lilly Butterfly The Pattern is available on the downloads page .  The colours used in this Monet version are: Happy Stitching! xxx

On a Dark, Black, Halloween Night…

Image
Robber Bridegroom This last page of Robber Bridegroom had me stitching with lots of black!  Which is perfect for getting into the Halloween vibe...  It has been a welcomed break from all the confetti encountered over the past few page finishes.  I'm now at the end of the first row, which is an exciting place to be!  This takes my stitch count for this project to 28,080 stitches, or 16.25 percent complete. Previous progress: Current progress: In the Shadows I've added e310 light effects to the hair section (which was not charted).  I phased out the metallic thread in a sloping curve to match where the hair highlights ended.  Otherwise the light effects beyond would have highlighted a section meant to be in the shadows,  which would most likely not look correct! Time Flies, Just like Witches... I'm really hoping to get my yearly goals finished.  At the moment I am behind due to stitching extra pages for Challenges.  I still have three p...
