Lots of Floss

Image
Robber Bridegroom For the 22 day Facebook Challenge I decided to attempt to finish the remainder of page 8 on Robber Bridegroom.  I've added metallic threads to the chart. Reminder of artwork: Previous progress: Current progress!: Floss Organizer Update Version 10 It was recently brought to my attention the Floss Organizer is missing the 35 new floss colours released by DMC near the start of 2018.    I've now updated it and Version 10 is the most recent version.  This version still has the skein estimator and several other useful sections.  I will also make the link permanently available via the "Downloads" tab at the top of the page.  There is also a user guide available in the Downloads tab.  Changes to version 10: 1. Added 35 new DMC floss colours to all project tabs 2. Re-designed new look Floss Project Pages:  Fabric Calculator Section: Project Stitch Count Overview, Percentage Complete: ...

Fact or Fairytale?

Robber Bridegroom It's been awhile since I've shown progress on the Rachel Marks fairytale piece "Robber Bridegroom."  Actually, it was around Halloween last year when I finished the top row!  Now I've skipped ahead to work on page 8 for my yearly goals.  Here is where it was at the last update: Traveling with my HAED I had a three hour train trip the other week and managed to get quite a bit of stitching in!  I made my wip much smaller to make it more travel friendly. I usually work on a much larger q-snap but switched to a 12 inch frame for traveling.  I fit everything needed for stitching into a small zip up bag! Start of trip:  End of trip: Current progress: I didn't get a page finish in but the section left on this page is part of the collar on the man's tunic/top.  This will have metallic threads worked into it like the collar back on page three. So I'll be getting the metallic threads out when I come back to this one! S...

On a Dark, Black, Halloween Night…

Robber Bridegroom This last page of Robber Bridegroom had me stitching with lots of black!  Which is perfect for getting into the Halloween vibe...  It has been a welcomed break from all the confetti encountered over the past few page finishes.  I'm now at the end of the first row, which is an exciting place to be!  This takes my stitch count for this project to 28,080 stitches, or 16.25 percent complete. Previous progress: Current progress: In the Shadows I've added e310 light effects to the hair section (which was not charted).  I phased out the metallic thread in a sloping curve to match where the hair highlights ended.  Otherwise the light effects beyond would have highlighted a section meant to be in the shadows,  which would most likely not look correct! Time Flies, Just like Witches... I'm really hoping to get my yearly goals finished.  At the moment I am behind due to stitching extra pages for Challenges.  I still have three p...
