Mr Greenwood's Stitching

A Guest Stitcher! My neighbour Rob has recently retired and decided to take up cross stitching!   I've been helping him learn how to stitch over the past couple of months.  He is stitching the R.A.E.M.E Badge, which is an image close to his heart from his days spent in the Army. R.A.E.M.E Badge: Rob's Stitching Progress:  Stitched on 14 count Aida (full cross on the main image and tent stitch on the background): Rob's PVC Floor Stand Project After working with a hoop for several months, Rob has now switched to a Q-Snap frame and decided he would also like a floor stand.  So we made a floor stand out of pvc piping based on this tabletop stand (obviously with longer legs than the design specifies).  After assembling the stand it was spray painted to achieve a copper finish. Waiting for the paint to dry: To complete the whole set-up, we have "Bruce" the friendly frog...  Bruce does all the frogging so Rob doesn't need too lol! ;) ...

Colour Enhancement, Colour Enchantment!

Enchanted Manor                                                                           The first page of Enchanted Manor is finished! This is a crop being stitched from the regular chart. Looking at the original art, the purples at the bottom section of the rainbow are really pretty. However, with the charted version they stitch up looking more blue. I noticed this looking at a stitched version on the BB (Bulletin Board). I felt the need to change the colours in the bottom section of the rainbow to make them closer to the art! Changing the Rainbow There needed to be more purple in the tone and sligh...

I’ve made a start on The Enchanted Manor by Josephine Wall. This one is being stitched on 14 count aida to boost the finished size of the crop.  I've never stitched on such a low count before and was curious to try it out! I’ve been working on this on and off over the past couple of months.  I'm using 4 over 1 full cross on dark colours and 3 over 1 full cross on everything else. Progress since December: I love it how Josephine painted a koala bear in the corner of this piece. The koala is native to Australia (my home country), which gives this piece a special resonance for me. Did you know that despite the fact they are often called Koala bears, Koalas aren't related to bears?! They are actually more closely related to kangaroos and wombats! They are often referred to as a koala bear because they have an obvious resemblance to a teddy bear… Currently I'm about halfway through the first page: Wishing everyone a safe and fun time over the Easter period ...
